I like to write. Whether what I write is coherent, grammatically correct, or interesting, well, that I don’t know about.

In college, I read an article in a mental health journal comparing our lives to a three-legged stool with each leg representing physicality, intellect and creativity. In order to physically balance our life, we need to make sure that each of our legs is the same length and gets the same care and attention as the other. My occupation is a Physician Assistant, so my intellect “leg” gets attention every day I step foot in the hospital. The physical “leg” is tended by tennis, volleyball, running (NYC Marathoner 2023 - shout out to all my marathoners!), and the occasional work out at the gym. As for creativity, well, that requirement was previously met by band practice and singing (acapella nerds unite!). Post-college, however, my creative leg has been getting shorter and shorter as my attention and schedule gets pulled away in different activities. I didn’t realize how much that leg had been lacking until one day, I looked back at the past month, and had seen that my daily routine had been pretty monotonous. My three-legged stool was barely able to balance with only 2 proper legs.

Now here’s where this travel blog comes in. I’m an introvert and I don’t like the spotlight. Auditioning for singing groups in NYC? No, thank you. Symphonic orchestras? Forget about it. I needed something that would satisfy my creative itch. Well, I love to travel. Ok. I love to connect with people through travel and shared experiences with cultures. Great. I used to love journaling but that had fallen off. Bam! Travel blog.

Travel blogging, to me, lets me express my inner dialogue - monologue? - on a written medium. In a way, I’m challenging myself to be more extroverted by making connections through a topic I love but I can still hide behind a written forum so it’s not overwhelming.

I hope that as you read through my blog, you’re able to take something helpful from it. Whether it’s food recommendations, how to travel, creating a travel itinerary, or what not to do, my goal is to get everyone to travel and experience things outside of their day to day activities. Even if it’s just a little chuckle, I’ll take it!
