PROVINCETOWN

Provincetown is my gay home. It’s a place where I feel free, liberated and genuinely happy. No matter how accepting the world might be turning regarding the LGBT lifestyle, I always feel a weight of stigma that follows me around as I walk through the streets of many cities - NYC included. In Provincetown or P-Town, there’s a more welcoming sense of acceptance. As soon as I step foot in P-Town, that weight is lifted and I feel lighter.

For those that don’t know, P-Town is one of a few LGBT hot spots in the world. Others that come to mind are Wilton Manors, Fire Island, Palm Springs, Mykonos, Sitges, and Puerto Vallarta, to name a few. But unlike Fire Island, the main vibe of P-Town isn’t about circuit parties. There are options to party but the vibe is definitely more chill. My perfect P-Town day would be walking the causeway, eating breakfast at Liz’s Cafe, biking through the dunes, beaching at Race Point, shopping at the small boutique stores on Commercial St, relaxing at the pool at Brass Key, dancing freely at Tea Dance, eating dinner at Jimmy’s Hideaway before strolling through Commercial St again at night on my way back to the hotel.
